Summary amp; Objectives
The Insurance Specialist at Coastline Equity plays a pivotal role in ensuring the proper compliance of insurance requirements across the organization's portfolio of properties. This position is responsible for managing insurance-related matters for vendors, residential tenants, commercial tenants, and property insurance for clients. The Insurance Specialist will collaborate closely with property management teams, vendors, tenants, and insurance agents to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities amp; Functions
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements across the organization's portfolio of properties
- Manage insurance-related matters for vendors, residential tenants, commercial tenants, and property insurance for clients
- Review and verify insurance certificates from vendors and contractors to ensure required coverage levels
- communicate with vendors and contractors to address insurance-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of vendor insurance documentation.
- Coordinate enforcement of insurance requirements for residential and commercial tenants according to lease agreements.
- Communicate insurance requirements to tenants and assist in addressing questions or concerns.
- Verify tenant insurance certificates and update records as necessary.
- Collaborate with insurance agents to facilitate procurement and renewal of property insurance policies for clients.
- Maintain an organized repository of property insurance policies, documents, and related information.
- Assist in processing insurance claims and work closely with property management teams for timely resolution.
- Regularly monitor and track insurance compliance status for vendors, tenants, and properties.
- Identify potential insurance gaps or issues and take proactive steps to address them.
- Update internal systems and databases with accurate insurance information.
- Communicate insurance requirements, changes, and updates to tenants for clarity and understanding.
- Generate regular reports on insurance compliance status for management review.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance insurance-related processes and minimize risks.
- Stay informed about relevant insurance laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance insurance expertise.
- Monitor the compliance framework and help support internal and external compliance audits. (Tracking regulatory changes, breach reporting, incident escalation, process on all activities concerning compliance);
- Maintain all required U.S. state licensure for regulated programs.
- Participate in the Risks Committees (or equivalent), or any other where presence is required.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex regulations (Consumer Protection, sanctions, Anti-Bribery, etc.).
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure alignment with regulations and internal policies.
- Effective communication (written and verbal) for cross-functional collaboration and guidance.
