The Billing Clerk is responsible for managing entry level day-to-day operations of the billing department including scheduling client payment plans, processing client payments, and responding to client inquiries on a timely basis.
Responsibilities:
- Record payments processed via cash, check, and credit card on a daily basis (when principal team member is absent)
- Reports Payment processed via payment methods through the failed payment report.
- Helps create and keep updated our monthly Failed payment report.
- Record cashed checks for filing fees and attorney fees in LollyLaw
- Performs initial matter setup, including sending client billing welcome and scheduling payment plans
- Answers financial inquiries (internal and external) including balance inquiries, payments and other requests
- Handles closing warnings when cases are recommended for close out
- Escalates complex billing inquiries to Billing Clerk Supervisor in a timely manner
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Billing Clerk or in a related role.
- Familiarity with billing software and accounting procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experienced with Google Calendar, Google Meet, Acuity, and Gmail.
- Own Laptop or Desktop (8GB RAM, Core i5 or above amp; Microsoft Office) with an internet connection of at least 10 Mbps.
- Time Flexibility: Willing to work on Pacific Standard Time (PST) schedule, flex hours on evenings or weekends as required
